"Surprisingly good", Motorbooks tends to put out some pretty skimpy titles. Lots of flash and little substance is often the case. This book seems to be an exception. As a total non-artist this book really helped me develop some skills in the area of automotive art.

A lot of good information without a lot of opinion. Nice drawings for you to use for reference and motivation. Good coverage of the different types of media.

I'd buy it again.

"A Great Book for Car Drawing Tutorial ...", I find it that this book covers most of aspects you need to know to draw cars "properly". I recommend this book for anyone wishing to learn or hone their skills on car drawings, because it is quite difficult to understand such thing for some people like me :D

"My 11 y/o loves it", My 11 y/o son is into drawing and into cars, so naturaly he started drawing cars, but he needed some help. I for one don't know what to do (not an artist), so I got this book for him, and so far the drawings he brings me are soooo much better. They are as good as the ones in the book, but it sure did give him a few pointers here and there. He loves looking at the tips, and hints in the book. All in all it made a difference to his drawings.

"good for rendering", This wasn't so great at how to draw cars, but there is a lot of good stuff on how to render them realistically, which is why i bought it.

"How to Draw Cars Like a Pro", The books delivered were brand new. No problrms with the binding or the pages.

"An Awesome Book for Beginners and Pros Alike", This is an excellent book for both beginners and professionals. It is very easy to read and understand. It shows you from the basics to tricks the professionals use. I actually bought this book for my 11 year old son who is really into hot rods. He could tell you just about anything you want to know about Hot Rods and will if you give him the chance. I liked his book so well, that I Had to order one for myself. I am a professional artist, however my work is based on Native American Art but this book peaked my interest and I am now thinking of airbrushing T-Shirts for the Hot August Nights Event we have in Reno each year. What more can I say, it is an excellent book for all ages and all stages of artists!

"It DOES teach u how to draw cars!", I'm sorry for writing a 2nd review, but i just want to say that I disagree with the previous review saying it doesnt teach drawing cars. This book has a part about each of the important subjects on drawing cars, all the details that you need to know.
And I made a huge progress with it.
My website has the drawings which were done after the purchase of this book. When I compare the ones before with the new ones, it makes me laugh.
You dont just start drawing perfect cars after u read this book, it takes time and lots of practicing. Do you expect to be drawing like Thom Taylor just after u read it?!... Take you time and patience, lots of it. And thats all you need.

And at the end of the book you see the artwork, by the best car artists. Which is great...

"the title is so misleading!!", This book didn't teach me how to draw cars!What it did show me was art work from talented car artists.Showing me artwork will not teach me how to draw a car.

"The best book ever", I just recieved this book yesterday. Had some time to try the step by step and how-to parts and I have to say this is exactly what i needed, maybe even a little better than I expected, and if someone makes the SAME book but about drawing motorcycles, I will buy it for twice the price of this one :). I think the book should have been bigger :) ( i dont mind it being more expensive since it's the best ). The author could write a book about each chapter in this book and sell many. It would be nice too. Even more detailed explanation.

Anyway, Im very very happy with this book...Also, I wish there was a video with drawing tips like in this book...

Taken in by the hopes of finding a great Christmas gift for my boyfriend, I purchased the book -- and now I use it myself!
