Others say...
"Most helpful book to buy!" There are so many places in this game, you definitely need a map and this book is great. I keep it open beside my computer and refer to it each time I play World of Warcraft.
"I LOVE my atlas!!! If you only buy one WOW guide book, this is the one you need!" This is an incredible atlas! I use it constantly, to locate my quest recipients, find answers for online buddies, and to help local family members and friends in the game. Although the regional maps do not have absolutely every detail labeled, and the large cities do not have individual shops specifically identified, the atlas has so many other benefits, this is insignificant. The region maps do have names of places printed on them, as you would see them after exploring in the game, and as if your mouse were hovering over every named location. A directory beside each region map tells you where flight masters and a few key vendors are, using a grid system to get you close to the target. There is a world map in the front of the book with all regions and instances labeled for quick reference, and all flight and boat paths drawn in, in color to show whether each is for horde or alliance. There is a huge section of smaller town maps that don't exist in the game itself, showing each little town in detail with a directory beside it showing you exactly where each vendor or key person is. Next, there are many, many pages of alphabetical listings of almost every character you will ever need to find in WOW, whether it is a quest giver, specialty vendor, or named creature--so when you have no idea where to turn, just look up the character in the index, and you will be told a brief description of that character, which major region and town map they are associated with, including page numbers, and a specific grid location for them on the region map, so you can even choose the closest flight point to get there. Next is a bunch of tables to help you easily locate: Weapons Trainers, Mount Trainers, Innkeepers, Flight Masters, Class Trainers, Profession Trainers, Skill Trainers. After that is a section of resource charts, showing which regions have specific minerals, herbs, and skinning types, and which animals drop the type you need. Finally, there are pages with Rare Mobs named, described, and listed by region, so you can seek out the wandering, Elite, named monsters to get that special treasure, and a chart listing all the specialty vendors and where to locate them. This Atlas was published prior to the Burning Crusade expansion, so at the time I am writing, it does not include any of the new lands, resources, or characters. This is such an amazing book, I recommend it to all my friends who play, and I would gladly pay twice the price to own it.

What our customer's say!
"Waste of money.", A complete waste of money. I expected detailed maps of everything on World Of Warcraft. It is just blown up maps from the computer. Don't make the same mistake I did by buying this product!!!
"I like it, but its not perfect", Nice book and I am glad that I bought it. Good things are nice big pictures shows all the towns and where the NPC are located and basically what they do. Shows the flight, Zeplin and ship paths. Shows what regions connect to the one you are in. if you are in atlas and want to see the specifics on a town it gives you the page number to go to. The Bad, was written before outland so there is nothing on that area. I wish the atlas would tell you what areas are horde, contested or alliance. Also would be nice to tell you if a town was horde, alliance or neutral. there has been at least one new flight path added that I know of since this book was published. I am glad that I bought book and I do use it a lot, but mabey they will add more info on the second edition. If you are new to game then atlas will be the greatest help to you.
"Internet databases and forums are more reliable ", Thankfully, I don't own this book, but I've used it a few times. Needless to say, it's junk.
It's built pretty well, I'll give them that, but it should have been a spiral edge (so it's easier to reference things in a flash). Despite the binding, it's pretty well built.
However, for a guide, it is poorly set up. Way too much NPC nonsense, maps aren't well developed (both visually and information-wise). The hand-drawn maps (always a crowd-pleaser) are pretty good but still lack info.
All of the information in the atlas is very general, and therefore not entirely helpful. Rare spawn info is easier to find than online searches, but even that cannot justify spending any amount of money on this book.
For a game that is constantly being revised and adding more content, it seems criminal to pay for such a book since you will almost always be missing something, regardless of the edition. When it comes down to it, WoW databases have so much more detail, hints, and tips to complete almost any challenge you meet in the game. If you are ridiculously dependent on having a physical copy of a guide, I would strongly urge you to save your money and wait for another revision copy to come out.
"Almost like Cheating!", What a fantastic find for the World of Warcraft player. Makes playing almost like cheating. You have maps to every region, city and camp and can locate vendors, class and profession trainers, flight masters, Rare Mobs, and even specialty vendors! This book is well worth the price. I think what I like most is that I can continue to look at the map online of where I am while I find the corresponding map in the book and then can look for what I need with great ease. So much faster than going back and forth to Thottbot.
"The ultimate!", Got his for my fiance as a birthday present - along with some other WoW books. This is the one he always turns back to. It's useful for a wide variety of questions, and easy to read to boot!

Read this reviews before You buy...
"world of warcraft atlas", this is an excellent book. it contains many details not found in your official books that you use for the game. it has a wealth of information that you dont see in other guide books such as the master guide or the burning crusade book. it has excellent maps with incredible detail. it is an invaluable tool for maps.
"The best gaming tool period! As rated by Telstar of Antonidas", As an adult gamer who just enjoys playing WoW, I would say that this is simply the best gaming tool for WoW--period. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, it is not meant to be like the Brady guides, and frankly--I prefer it. It doesn't have quest hints, or dungeon layouts, or walkthroughs. It doesn't make suggestions on who to have in your party for a given instance. It's not supposed to. It has maps of every region and every city. It has an index that refers to all quest creatures and people that makes it worth it's weight in gold!
It does have a color code issue on one page with flight paths--but it's an obvious red/blue thing that's easy to interpret properly. The indexes are great and they help you find the zone for the person or creature(s) you're looking for without giving away the quest. I really like this tool and frankly, find it better than the Brady guide because it has an excellent index, and it doesn't give away the answers--it just helps you know where to go. Given the size of the WoW world, it's particularly helpful to be able to find exactly the kind of spiders (kobolds, wolves, thieves, dragon, NPC, raw material, professional trainer, or whatever) that you're looking for by just checking the index. Then you can go straight there--instead of wading through a mass of guys in an area of the Wetlands that you don't need until phase 2 or 3 of the quest you're on.
I highly rate this Atlas as the best 'non-cheat' tool for WoW.
"Great Product", Overall, a great product. There are some shortcomings in that it lacks strategies and tips, but Brady Games makes a proper strategy guide for those purposes. High production value on this book, which I use in lieu of the in-game mapping system. I even make map notes directly onto the high-quality paper. Well-made, useful, and thus far standing the test of time...
"Maps ok--outdated--but ok", Not bad, not brilliant either. Saves toggling to the world map, and allows for generic route planning.
The tables at the back are nice, but poorly organized.
"It is what it says", Atlas definition= A collection of maps of different regions of the world. I just picked this up 2 weeks ago and have to say it's a true Atlas plus. Apparently these other reviewers have never actually seen a real Atlas, I doubt it shows the location of the guy that will take you down the river and back on your family trip. They block out the maps so you can exp playing the game, not be handfed ...try exploring.
It has easily readable text and the graphical detail is good. It gives locations on Flight Paths,Dungeon Instances,Vendors,Flight Masters,Trainers,City Officials,(Quick Referance) to connecting regions,Towns and Camps. List of all creatures in game where to find them and rare mobs. I would recommend this for people just starting out in the game. It was well worth my $30. ( doubles as a good mouse pad, haha ) I agree, it could be better though.
