Buy this. It puts many things about chord theory and music relationships right at yor fingertips. It's worth twice the price. Just stare at it and you will absorb it.

Am glad I picked this little tool up. Not something I would take with me anywhere, but is a handy little device to have while I'm sitting around pulling a song apart or studying an aspect of basic music theory.

"A wonderful music theory tool"
I have played guitar for over 10 years. I am a guitar instructor as well. Sometimes it's difficult to keep all the chord theory in my head at all times. This little tool, the Chord Wheel, is an excellent aid that I find myself using often.

The Chord Wheel has a spinnable template that lays over the circle of fifths. Instantly, it helps you understand the flats and sharps in each key. Once you spin it to a certain key, it gives you all the main chord substitutions for every step in the gey--genious. The Chord Wheel also has some excellent chord theory instruction within its few pages.

I use The Chord Wheel as part of my teaching curriculum. I haven't found a better tool to teach the circle of fifths or to introduce my students to the power of basic chord substitutions.

"theif?!! ", Mr. Schulz, you invented nothing. This wheel was originally published at least 60 years ago, and probably invented well before that. In music, we all stand on the shoulders of our forebears.

"My symphathy ", Hi, D. Shultz "siteswap soroban" i think i should believe what you said. Now i know who is the original inventor. Next time when you got ideas just go and meet the book publishers. Couldn't trust on private colleges anymore.

Anyway, if this is your real idea. I really salute your knowledge and i would give the 5 stars because of your work (not Jim Fleser). I'm so sorry to hear that, i know how hard it feels when somebody stolen our ideas. However, i suggest you gather enough of evidence and try to sue the author.



"The Chord Wheel", I bought chord wheel a couple years ago and could not figure the thing out to little explanation and I play piano hoping to help me play by ear better. No luck it sits in the bottom of all my music. I am trying one of the other music books right now.

"Great Tool", This is a concise reference tool for a musician. Once you understand the concept this will save you hours of work !!

"THE VISUAL INFORMATION", THis book was purchased for my daughter who is doing music theory at the moment. She says that it is extremely useful due to the visual information conveyed by the wheel

"Nice Presentation of a circle of 5ths and 4ths", Well it's just a nice presentation of a circle of 5th and 4ths that would be found on plenty of websites. However for a student getting into harmony and discovering these basic elements for the first time it could work. If it gets a student thinking about harmony and starting them composing around a 6 chord set and transposing into new keys - well it's done it's job.

"Great tool", The Chord Wheelis great for anyone trying to transcribe something that doesn't sound quite right or anyone who's forgotten their theory. It's easy to read and colourful therefore easy on the eye! It really is pretty handy.

"Great visual, Text is gibberish", The cover is a great visual representation of progressions and the relationship between chords.

However the text is unclear GIBBERISH.

There are a few gems of information deeply buried beneath condescending inferences that you should ALREADY KNOW this, TRUST ME on that, or JUST TRY IT and it will work.

This book doesn't teach theory, it CONFUSES an average student

It would be better to have just the cover and a one page explanation of its usage on the back-
that would be worth $5, but at this cost it is not worth it!

"Wait... this is a Circle of Fiths", Fat Cats Go Down Alleys Eating Birds.... This is the circle of fifths with a movable wheel. This same material should be in any basic concept of music theory and jazz chord theory.

That being said. It is nice to have in a "circular slide rule" format like a color wheel and other "wheel" products. It gives someone not already introduced to the circle of fifths some insite into progression construction (I IV V , circle of fifths progressons and chromatic progressions) and other areas of chord theory.

That's why I give it 2 stars insead of 0.
