"Every Architecture Student Should Own a Copy of This Book...", I purchased this book about two years ago and it has been worth every penny and more. I often just leave it on my desk for quick reference regardless of what stage in a project I'm in. I am currently a third year Architecture student and can see myself using this text well into my practice as some of my professors admittedly do in theirs. The book is clearly laid out and is helpful in identifying various structural systems using a variety of materials and connections, foundation systems, detailed wall sections, etc. Great resource!

"Excellent Representation of Building systems", I purchased this manual while preparing for my NCIDQ examination. While it is not an in depth manual for architects, or someone studying architecture, it has the perfect amount of information for Interior designers.

There are many many illustrations, and the verbiage pertaining to the illustration is written next to it with an arrow pointing. For example: the header over a door is explained in detail, and then an arrow points to it in the door assembly illustration.

I found the information in this book very helpful when preparing for the examination, and many of the questions pertained to the information in this book.

A great addition to the library of any interior designer.

"Useful for engineers, architects and design managers ", This is a straight forward practical guide to building construction for engineers, architects, design managers and anyone involved in construction. Especially useful for graduates and those new to the industry.

"building construction illistrated", Book is very good for research and beginners learning building construction. I have used the earlier editions often for research. But the 4th ed. the print and the size of font is smaller and lighter in color and is hard to read even which my glasses on.

"One Of A Kind", I am a 40 year + commercial real estate appraiser, real estate broker, property mananger, have participated in developing and remodeling offices and industrial properties. Have seen almost every publication offered by professional organizations, schools, public publishing companies. From beginners to those who have reached their business goals in real estate, this publication in in the upper ten percent. If I had to choose a single publication covering building construction, this one would be it.

"Superb", I am so, so impressed with this book. Extremely well drawn pictures ooze out of each page. Measurements are given for nearly every architectural feature, except keyholes (approx. 24H) Metric and US measurements are provided. This is a real time saver for 3D artists concentrating on architectural modelling and rendering. This is definitely one of my favourite books. Also covered are construction considerations - materials, sunlight and heat, earthquakes, wind, weight loading, etc. Makes for a fascinating read and visually stimulating one.

"A great book for architectural novice!", I read this book in library when I was studying in University of Southern California in Los Angeles and was looking for a book on architecture in real world. I loved it, I bought it many years later simply because I loved to have it in my book collection. It turned out to be a very good buy. The illustrations are great! Ching has a great talent to simplify complicated issues and make them very easy to understand.
