"A book for dummy", This is book is like an introductry to computer, if you have never used any computer and just bought MAC, then this is the one for your, other than that, dont' buy it, waste money.

"For newbies only", I love Robin Williams, and own a number of her books, but was expecting something something a little more in-depth from this offering. Essentially, it's a re-working of her previous Little Mac Books aimed (as those were) a newcomers to the Mac OS. If you've read previous versions of The Little Mac Book, don't bother with this one. Get something with more meat on the bones. That said, if you ARE new to the Mac (especially if it's your first computer), there's absolutely no better starting point or more companionable guide. Robin's very folksy, down-to-earth conversational style has a way of taking the technical and making it accessible.

"Best basic computer book", Excellent for learning the basics of computers and the MAC. I started with the PC but changed to the MAC and found the book to be an excellent introduction to basic use of the computer as well as MAC in particular. If I could have found a book like this one, I probably wouldn't have gotten the MAC. Written in very understandable language for the beginner.

"Book", There is so much information in this one little book. It's one of my favorites.

"Conquers the Leopard", I've been a Mac person since 1992 - just bought a MacBookPro and wss chugging along fine...till a couple of applications disappear from the Dock. (If you don't know what a Dock is, you really need this book!)

How do I figure this out? I type half a dozen phrases into the help form...no luck. So I look up this book and there it was. I learn all sorts of other things too.

Well, sometimes the online manuals just don't go far enough or they're too cumbersome to use. Who wants to spend half an hour tracking down a single phrase? When that happens, this book nicely fills the gap.

Easy and fun to read with many clear diagrams and screen shots. A nice companion to your new Mac!

"Good Book!", Good book to read if you are a beginner in the world of MacIntosh. Goes over a lot of basics and is easy to understand. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn about MacIntosh Computers.

"Absolutely usefull.", Step by step resolves all the questions a beginner will have on a MacOSX.

"Little Mac Book a success", I found the Little Mac Book very helpful with a lot of good, basic information to get the beginner off on the right foot. The information was clear, and the step-by-step directions were easy to follow. It was full of extra little "tips" to make things easier. A few times, I wish the author had offered more details, but I guess that's another book.

"A good starting point & then some", I happily became a "macie" on Robins earlier work "The little mac book"-however she kinda skipp'd over the main reason I bought an imac-the "Apps" especially imovie-I ended up with David Pogues & Jim Heid(fav) stuff-I went back to Robin for her BIG OSX jaguar edition, & was very Happy I did for I find Pogues books very repetitive-I looked forward to her "LittieTiger book" for my next transition-unfortunately it was "LITTLE" in size and insight BUT for any type of a newbie or non-teckie it is a good starting point. I should have gone used-which brings me to a slight mac tangent-even though I bought "Upgrading & Trouble Your mac OSX " by Gene Steinberg used, it WAS NOT even worth the little I paid for it. He seemed more concerned about expounding on his audio experience & pushing his iTunes book. In addition there was more "go to "other web sites than actual personal experience sharing. I can't believe there was so much repetion (yap-yap) & hardly any use of pictures to show actual assembly & dis-assembly. Definetly NOT recommended.

"very basic", This book is for the most novice brand new user of OS X.4. If you've ever used a Mac, even OS9, don't bother with this book, its too basic.
