"very accessible", All of Robin Williams' design books are not only well-written, but extremely accessible, and this one is no exception. In fact, this is my favorite of all of her books. I love that she includes so many details about the projects. She even includes detailed colophons in the backs of her books, which is very useful if you are at all interested in fonts and type styles. Even if you do a lot of design work, this book is useful for jump-starting creative blocks.
Her Mac books are pretty good, too.

"What a great service", I lived actually in Spain and the sender estimate that my item will last at las more than a month, but it arrives in excellent conditions by the 2 first weeks.

"Love the follow up", The second edition was needed, but could be more meatier than adding a few extra insights from the first version. But hey, I love the writer.

"Only for beginners", This book was used as the textbook for a class I took. I was very dissappointed. The info was from first year design classes, and there were even suggestions given that are common "no-no's" in graphic design. It had several interpretations of each design problem, which was interesting to look at, but nothing too inspirational.

"Robin Williams Design Workshop (2nd Edition)", Book has excellant information, good examples, and plenty of suggestions and recommendations. Easy to understand with many design images.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Robin Williams Design Workshop", This is a great reference for print design but the web site section is almost laughably outdated. Gone are the days of splash entry pages and HTML tables for non-conmplex layouts (now easily rendered by CSS). And who the heck is running 640x480 resolution on a 14 inch monitor these days??

"Adobe projects", It's good for the all of adobe projects that you may work on.

"Design Workshop", Since I received this book I have been carting it around, using it for reference ever since. I wish that I had been introduced to this book sooner in my college career; it sets a good foundation for the basics. It is also good for sparking ideas if you are stuck. Robin Williams also writes well, making it a fun, easy read (like all her books).

I highly recommend this title.

With the authors having also written "The Non-Designer's Design Book," "The Non-Designer's Web Book" and others, that sense of familiarity is well founded. In the introduction it is written that this is a book for "mere-mortal" designers - meaning "aspiring designers who are in the process of developing their skills and getting experience; designers who are not famous (yet); and designers who are looking for design books to add to their collection, books that will give them some insight into the design process." Williams and Tollett do not disappoint those readers. Through colorful and detailed examples, designers are taken through the thought and creation process of a variety of projects including logos, ads, web sites, newsletters, brochures and more. In the section "Designers & the Design Process" the reader is shown the processes and work styles of six different designers as they create a book cover, logo and identity packages, promotional materials, an office space, web sites, student project assignments, typography and collateral materials. "Graphic Designer", I am a recent graduate of Manhattanville College with a BA degree. I have been working as a Graphic Designer for a small business in Pelham Manor. I purchased this book to explore more of my design field. This book has helped me better design some of my basic layouts/how to deal with clients/budget and business opportunties. I also purchased the non-designers web design book....and look foward to reading that soon.
