Others say...
"Great Supplementary Guidebook for PSP XI" These folks have been producing excellent supplementary guides for several versions of PaintShop Pro. I've been using the application for YEARS, and it still provided very good additional tips and tricks, techniques, explanation of new features or things that I hadn't used yet, etc., etc. I've given to a number of friends that are just getting their feet wet in Digital Editing when they want to more than "the BASICS" with the applications that came with their camera, but they weren't ready to go to Photoshop by a long shot. All of them have appreciated the "jump-start" that this gave them
"paint shop pro 11" A very concise book, covering all the facets associated with the paint shop pro program. With this book along with the one that comes with the software is all that is required to work with the programme
"Just what I was looking for!" Pretty easy to follow and very helpful. It had most of what I was looking for. Too bad there wasnt an instructional DVD to go along with it!
"Paint Shop Pro XI for Photographers" This was for my husband but even I can use it.
"Print Shop Pro Photo XI" This book is very helpful to the person just starting to use PSPP XI. It is good for the novice to intermediate user. Some of the more advanced topics are not in this volume, but considering the information that comes with the program itself this is a great help.

What our customer's say!
"Frustrating and disappointing", Having owned several versions of Paint Shop Pro and having owned several how-to books (at least 1 for each version going back to PSP 4), this book is a huge disappointment. Since my heavy usage of PSP is sporadic, I rely heavily on good documentation. Since PSP has always lacked in this area, I look for one good how-to book for whatever version I'm using.
To fill that void, this book falls short. Steps are not sufficiently detailed, and often lumped into whole paragraphs. (Opening a new document, copying, and then pasting a photo are separate steps, not one.) Some techniques are only presented in photo captions and without enough detail to recreate what the author is showing.
At best, the writing style is 'offhand' with more text devoted to what features are in the product and their advantages, rather than how to really apply them to a project. A similar book on Paint Shop Pro 8 was far better than this book is, which just underscores what is possible in creating a truly useful book.
This book is a nice chunk of marketing, but falls short on the usable nuts-and-bolts.
"Paintshop Pro", I think it is good. I have not went through the whole book yet but after going through it I have found the Learning Center tells you most but pictures help a lot.
"One of the few", While there are hundreds of books for the various versions of PhotoShop,it seems like there are very few books available for Paint Shop Pro. So just finding Paint Shop "Pro for Photographers" was a treat, but to have be such a thorough and easy to use reference was a stroke of luck. I've really enjoyed reading it, and it's provided me with a lot of useful tips and guidance.
"Not good to me", One reviewer says is the best book for this application. But I found only this one. It's sad. The application is great, but this book didn't help me as I expected. I don't get a good guide through the overwhelming options and settings that the software has. I doesn't answer why of anything. What is it this one setting or how should we make better use of controls other than trial & error. It's all mixted up. Images inserted in the book very often not related to the explanation, but out of place or redundant. In a word, i didn't like it.
"Paint Shop Pro XI Lesson Book", I bought the book and learned some of the basic stuff I was missing. I would like to see the lessons go a lot deeper. I was totally disappointed in the lack of photo restoration lessons for old photos. What was given was minor to say the least. I am very interested in some larger lessons on restoring old photos.

"Good but novices beware", The book was good for some of the basics but much of the content will be only understood by people very familiar with the sophisticated terms in professional photography.
"It may be good for Professional Phototogs but not beginners", This susposed how-to book does describe what Paint Shop Pro XI can do, probably of interest to professional photographers, but helps little with specific problems in managing the software. It does not help much if one has specific problems when using the software, although it does tell what the software should be able to do. I expected this book to help me with my specific questions when using the software, instead it offered perspectives on what could be achieved. While this is of interest, I wanted to KNOW how to get around in the program. Like most software written, the HELP section in Paint Shop Pro XI did little to assist the novice.
"Very helpful companion to Paint Shop Pro", This book has been a great help in explaining some of the things that can be done with the software. I never found anything from Corel to be this useful. I use this book to look up certain things as I need to, but I hope to some day find the time to go through it more carefully to enhance my understanding. Because I don't have a lot of time to spend just playing around with Paint Shop Pro, this book has been great in guiding me through an application. I'd recommend this to anyone who is interested in Paint Shop Pro.
"Paint Shop Pro Photo XI", If you're a beginner to intermediate user of Paint Shop Pro Photo for Digital Photo correction and manipulation then this is the book for you.
The book is in color with pictures and screen shots. It's easy to follow along using Paint Shop Pro and the very same pictures in the book can be downloaded for the follow through.
Ken McMahon writes clearly and precisely without being a bore. The book covers everything from the one click fixes, workspace, selections, channels, sharpening, color correction, resizing and more.
I'm an intermediate user and I learned from every chapter I read.
The only thing I'd like to have seen in the book was a mention of the older tools hidden under VIEW >CUSTOMIZE>>TOOLS. There are some very useful and easy to use tools there that IMO should be placed on the Photo Palette.
Now if Ken would write an advanced book of photo manipulation using PSP so I don't have to convert Photoshop tutorials I'd be one happy camper.
Buy this book you won't be disappointed.
"Paint Shop Pro XI", The book is great, but it could get into greater depth in use of the product. Too often it leaves the user at a mid-level menu item. It does give a perfect overview of must uses.
